Celebrating Black History Month: The Betty J Henderson Hopkins Foundation and the Xero Office in Denver, CO

bjhhfoundation

Black History Month is a time to honor the incredible contributions of Black leaders, artists, and innovators throughout history. It’s also an opportunity to uplift Black voices and foster greater appreciation for the beauty and diversity of Black culture. This year, our Foundation thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with the Xero Office in Denver, where our curated collection of Black themed artwork will be proudly displayed throughout February.

As a non-profit dedicated to empowering women who are American Descendants of the Freedmen, this partnership is a meaningful way to share the powerful stories and talent of the artists we work with. The walls of the Denver Xero Office have been transformed into a gallery showcasing vibrant artwork that celebrates Black history, identity, and resilience. This initiative not only honors the legacy of Black creatives but also provides an incredible platform for their work to reach a broader audience.

Amplifying Black Art and Stories

We believe that art has the power to inspire, educate, and connect people. Each piece in this collection tells a unique story, conveying messages of hope, strength, and the richness of Black culture. From bold, colorful portraits to thought-provoking abstract work, the collection is as diverse as the artists themselves.

Hanging these pieces in a space like this Office is a step toward amplifying these voices and ensuring they are seen, appreciated, and celebrated. We’re incredibly grateful to Xero for giving us this opportunity to showcase these talented artists in such a dynamic and visible space.

Why This Matters

For our Foundation, this collaboration is more than just a display of art—it’s a chance to shine a light on the important work we do. Many of the artists featured in this collection have faced barriers to accessing traditional art spaces. By working together with organizations like Xero, we’re breaking down those barriers and creating new opportunities for exposure.

This partnership also helps us bring our mission to life: supporting Black artists and ensuring their work reaches audiences who might not otherwise have the chance to experience it. The exposure from this collaboration is invaluable, and we’re hopeful it will lead to new opportunities for us and the artists we proudly represent.
